History

Pros For America's Youth was founded by Mark Hannah in May of 1988 as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization incorporated in the State of West Virginia. The organization moved to Arizona in 1989. The organization has been actively devising and pursuing educational programs for implementation in Arizona’s schools with the assistance of professional athletes.

In 1996 the organization formed the "Know Tobacco" campaign as a natural extension of the organization's youth-oriented educational efforts. Pros For America's Youth originally set out to educate young children on the negative effects of tobacco. We have evolved from a group with numerous ideas into a group that is creating and implementing a comprehensive educational school program on obesity.  We are not giving up on our kNOw Tobacco Program, but we really need help in funding for the coloring books for the students. These coloring books have the message of how the dinosaurs became extinct. Our "Hero" that comes to the school in costume, kNOwtobaccosaurus Rex is the only living dinosaur because he never used any type of tobacco.  We explain to the students that all of the following dinosaurs became extinct because they used some sort of tobacco. There are twelve characters that became extinct and these are their names:  Smokesalottacigasurus, Coughanhackasaur, Chewtobaccospitasaur, Snuffasaurus, Stuntagrowthasaurus, Tynababysaurus, Yellowteethtobaccobreathasaur, Woolymammathpuffapypaderm, Secondhandsmokeasaur,  Cigarasaurus,  Tumorasaur,  and Taralungasaur.  The coloring book has a short story of each of the dinosaurs and how they became extinct.  Plus the kids can color the character.  These books cost us one dollar to print and we need help in the funding of this wonderful book.
